Although the highly acclaimed session guitarist Larry Carlton is definitely focused on functionality, his brilliantly priced Sire S7 Flamed Maple proves that a great build can also be easy on the eye. Judging by the flamed maple top and highly stable satin-gloss finished roasted maple neck alone, the build-quality and aesthetics are already perfectly balanced. Based on Larry's very own ST-guitar, the sound and feel of this model also matches up, giving it the same distinctive ST-style multi-sided tonality. To deliver that necessary sonic punch and flexibility, a single-coil has been mounted in the middle and neck positions, while the humbucker at the bridge delivers more beefy tone and but can be coil-split via the push/pull tone pot for single-coil-style sound. The considerately basic layout of the electronics leaves you free to focus purely on playing while an incredibly secure set of locking tuners and a six-saddle two-point tremolo bridge maintain stable pitch and intonation.

Being a very content owner of a Sire Bass I was curios wheter the guitar series also shines - and I really think it does. The overall finish is excellent and the roasted maple neck with its "rolled edges" and the silk finish on its rear side makes the S7 very comfy to play. Only people who don´t like laquered freatboards will not love this neck. The initial setup was ok but I had to tweak a few things: the truss-rod needed to be loosened a little as the neck was a tad too straight. I also lowered the string action and had to adjust intonation on two strings slightly. All necessary tools are included so that was a matter of minutes. Overall a very beautiful and excellently built Super Strat.

Incroyable pour ce prix.
Le manche est extrêmement confortable. La guitare est correctement réglée a la réception.
Les micros Sire sont très bon en son clean et crunch, et tout à fait correct en saturé.
Le push/push est pratique et il y'a peu de différence de niveau sonore entre les micros, ce qui finalement est assez rare.
Les finitions sont très très bonnes pour ce prix, mais pas totalement irréprochable si on chipote un peu.
Mais à ce prix là c'est vraiment incroyable ! Une super guitare que cette Sire.
